About The Role

Alexandra Palace is looking for a full time Catering Supervisor to join the in-house Catering team delivering high quality customer service across event and hospitality catering operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working busy events and experience supervising a team. Food handling level 2 and a personal liquor license are desirable. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering excellent customer service across all areas
  2. Supervising and directing the work of a team of staff during events including live music concerts, live sport, exhibitions, banquets, park events and corporate events
  3. Preparing catering units for opening and closing down units at the end of the day / event
  4. Acting as the main point of communication between the shop floor and management
  5. Supporting colleagues in F&B units across the site as and when required including ice café operation, backstage bar, Theatre bar and pop up bars across the Park and Palace

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Fluent in English language
  • Experience working large scale events (circa 5,000-10,000)
  • Experience of supervising or leading a team
  • Experience of delivering face to face customer service preferably gained in a catering environment
  • Strong verbal communication with the ability to give clear instructions
  • Ability to delegate appropriately
  • Team player
  • Trustworthy, reliable and honest
  • Available to work a flexible shift pattern including weekends, evenings and some bank holidays

Desirable

  • Food Handling Level 2
  • Personal liquor license
  • Experience of working in a venue
  • Knowledge of Alexandra Park and Palace operations and events
