Transport Supervisor - Early shift - Amesbury

We are looking for the next generation of Transport Supervisour to join our Logistics operation at our new Amesbury distribution centre.

The successful candidate will have previous practical experience of a busy transport operation.

 

The primary focus of the role is to ensure the department is a safe and legally compliant and that the products are delivered to the shops on time and in

full and in a cost effective manner.

Pay Rates

Salary £36,729

Shift Pattern and Contracted Hours

45 hours per week covering 5 over 7

Standard shift pattern 4am to 1pm, with early and later start times dependent on department needs (Flexibility required to work additional hours as required)

Key responsibilities

    Scheduling routes and drivers on a daily basis to ensure all shops are serviced Ensure sufficient vehicle availability for the operation and rectification of vehicle defects Manage the Transport department against both cost and customer service KPI’s ensuring goods are despatched and delivered to the shops at the time required to meet service levels Analyse and minimise risks in all areas of Operator Licence responsibility by managing compliance and ensuring all transport legal matters are dealt with professionally and efficiently Use detailed analysis of department performance to drive improvements Forge strong communication links within the department, Use detailed analysis of department performance to drive improvements and Provide cost effective delivery to all shops while remaining within budget and legal constraints Ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to Reviewing internal customer interface and systems to identify actions to improve customer satisfaction Assisting the Transport Manager in identifying and developing proactive transport approaches Ensuring that Driver training is carried out within company policy and legal compliance Carrying out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting monthly 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans Leading the transport teams in line with our values, with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility

Skills

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: All candidates are required to hold:

    Valid UK Driving Licence; Experience of managing a team Experience of managing drivers hours and Tacho Regulations Experience of chill chain and temperature controlled delivery operation Experience of a time sensitive daily fresh operation Good level of computer literacy Flexibility around working hours as transport operations cover shifts
 

 

 

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

    Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) LGV Class C (HGV II);
    Initial Driver CPC qualification and proof of Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
    Previous Large Vehicle Driving Experience. UK digital Tachograph card;
