A position has become available for a Roving Maintenance Engineer to join the team at Hawkchurch Resort and Spa, in Axminster.

While the role is set to be based from the Axminster area, the role will predominantly entail travelling to other sites within the group so applications from other locations around these other resorts are encouraged.

The Roving Maintenance Engineer position is a varied role, that would suit someone with an interest in maintenance and travelling. This travel will mainly be centered around resorts in the South, such as Devon, Dorset and Cornwall. From time to time travel to other sites in the North may be required, such as Cumbria and North Wales.

You will work independently to provide support to the resorts as instructed by the Utilities Manager. This will include working with the maintenance teams at sites to complete building and occasionally grounds work. This may be general maintenance and repair work or to assist in projects such as area renovations and uplifts.

Great general DIY skills are essential, as is a great level of self motivation. Previous experience in grounds work and maintenance are an advantage.

This is a permanent position to work full time, variable hours. These hours may include weekends, bank holidays and overnight stays so flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of all lodges and other company buildings, as required.
  • Check all plant and equipment maintenance are complete where necessary.
  • Actively promote the park and it’s facilities.
  • Comply with all maintenance jobs issued by the Utilities Manager promptly.


What experience you will need
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Previous grounds experience is an advantage, but not essential.


What skills you will need
  • Some plumbing knowledge.
  • Driving licence required.
  • Excellent DIY knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills due to independent working.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic.
