MI Analyst – Retail Technology and Innovation
Based at Asda House Leeds

The MI team within Central Retail Operations are responsible for all store facing KRA reporting, we work very closely with Technology in supporting accuracy & timeliness of data. Our biggest aim is to support our store colleagues by delivering targeted MI solutions, removing duplication in reporting & giving better direction on tasks

As an MI Analyst you will be responsible for delivery of developing new business reporting as well as migrating legacy reports on to more sustainable platforms, you will support with the delivery of new projects for new applications and reports, implementing these projects into both our head offices and stores.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Reporting into the MI Manager – Retail Technology, you will own a suite of reports, all having agreed SLA’s which need to be maintained there will be an element of support in answering queries and also ad-hoc analysis on business trends and identifying opportunities through providing new insight
  • Own a suite of MI reports, from running to migrating onto more sustainable platforms such as Tableau & Power BI
  • Support store colleagues with queries on reporting.
  • Visit stores to gather feedback of reporting we produce – How can we improve & simplify?
  • Work with multiple teams to define, understand and prioritise business reporting requirements.
  • Support the MI manager with Ad-hoc data & reporting requests
  • Be able to simplify the complex, explaining how data flows & calculations along the way
  • Produce central analysis of key metrics, reporting these to the wider team
  • About you:

    You will possess a background within MI & Reporting Automation, a strong IT understanding, be tech savvy and have experience in developing new business reports which are directed to identify problems. You will:
  • Be proficient in MS Excel (using pivot tables, creating charts and advance formulas)
  • Have a good understanding of reading and writing SQL.
  • Have had exposure of using reporting & data tools such as MS Access / Power BI and Tableau.
  • Be able to highlight opportunities to simplify reporting based on customer feedback.
  • Think methodically, be organised and open to listening to other’s opinions.
  • Be able to effectively prioritise workload to ensure we’re focusing on the right things in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a great ability to work on your own and also use your technical ability to feed into supporting wider team projects.
