Accounting & Reporting – Accounts Payable
Based at Asda House Leeds

About the role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to centralise all the accounting and control work streams across Accounts Payable, allowing us to really step on and challenge our processes and controls. As a newly created position, it provides you with the unique opportunity to put your stamp on how this role develops. You will be the key contact for the Controllership and Audit teams, with stakeholders across the business, from Retail to ALS to Trading.
What you’ll be responsible for:

Completing monthly processes/ transactions within your area of responsibility accurately, completely and on time.

Maintaining adherence to group accounting policies, highlighting to your manager where there may be discrepancies and working across the teams to create remedy plans to resolve any issues.

Completing balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting control risks and creating action plans to resolve any issues.

Responsible for pulling together the Monthly Sox control documents and Risk Reviews.

Providing analytics for the Accounts Payable teams to highlight areas of focus and drive productivity and efficiencies.

Working across Accounts Payable to understand the end to end processes and impacts on the P&L.

About you:

Good analytical skills

Intermediate user of MS Excel - vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs

Working in a team and collaboratively

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to build rapport with stakeholders and teammates

Ability to problem solve

Ability to balance changing priorities

Ability to work at pace

Strong attention to detail in all work

Ability to work to deadlines

Desirable: Finance or industry experience

Desirable: Finance Qualification or a desire to study towards one
