Commercial Finance Business Partner

The Food Trading team business partners the various functions within Trading and the end to end Supply Chain to provide commercial analysis and support. The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through detailed category analysis, focused cost control and holding teams to account on Sales, GP, Inventory, Waste, Working capital and Cost of goods sold (COGS)/ Every Day Low Cost initiatives.
The vacancy is in the Supply and Own Brand finance team as commercial finance support for the end to end Supply Chain and Own Brand teams. This is a varied role that supports the Trading, Supply and Own Brand teams and to be successful you will need to build strong relationships with the teams you will be supporting.
You will be responsible for understanding and driving improvements in the commercial performance, stimulating strategic decision making, driving financial discipline, processes and accountability and supporting the end to end Supply Chain Strategic Workstream.

What you’ll be responsible for:
Driving delivery of the 2019 plan in partnership with the Vice President and Senior DirectorsProviding guidance to help mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunitiesInterpreting and communicating trends within financial dataIdentifying opportunities to improve sales/profitability/availabilityStrengthen performance management across the supply KRAs, cost lines and balance sheet through improved Forecast accuracy and planningLeveraging data to adding insight and value through digital tools and technique, strong attention to detail, excellent financial data analysis and insight skills. End to end Supply Chain - Drive setting measures of success and reporting progress against each. Providing commercial analysis for each of the work streams to drive decisions and action.Own Brand – Providing commercial support to the Own Brand team, supporting the business to deliver its strategic objectives.Support link between trading and supply to deliver the plan

About you:

You’ll be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong analytical and communication skills and good commercial awareness.

You’ll be required to influence and challenge at a senior level and so the ability to build and maintain exceptional customer relationships in a confident and pro-active way is a must.
