In this key role, you will be responsible for the tasks below:

Event Management - Develop, plan, and co-ordinate the delivery of and maintain (both directly and via the services of volunteers) the wide ranging London Region sports, leisure and activity programmes.  Such activity to range from one-off events, regular programmes and key large Regional events such as conferences and awards celebrations.  Key requirements will centre on planning and delivery schedules, communication with stakeholders, budgetary control and reporting, on-going evaluation and the development of programme opportunities.   

Sport Management – To encourage sport participation across the London Region by planning, organising and implementing projects and action plans within the Qualifier and Sport Club programmes to continually develop an attractive sport offering. Key requirements will centre on liaising with key volunteers and National Governing Bodies, project planning, activity evaluation and reporting. 

Volunteer Support – To provide volunteers with first class support in the delivery of events and development of sport by adopting a flexible and innovative approach to the support packages offered. At the same time, assist volunteers to understand and appreciate central expectations so that the standard and relevance of our regional offer continues to develop and improve.  Overall, champion an effective synergy between CSSC’s activity organisers at a regional level.

Administration –Planning and publicising events, co-ordinating entries, checking membership details of participants, collation of results for inclusion in the sporting calendar and investigating site risk assessments.

To pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role and reviewing performance against agreed objectives.

Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for health and safety, legal stipulations and general duty of care.

You will have:

  • Experience of coordinating projects.
  • A flexible approach to people and work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.
  • Excellent organisation, administration and IT skills.
  • Personal drive and enthusiasm with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to succeed
  • Efficient and effective time management, organisation and planning skills.
  • Experience of supporting volunteers is desirable.
