About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join the ALS (Asda Logistics Services) data team. As a data analyst you will be responsible for developing management information and business intelligence for our depots and central ALS teams to unlock value. Data is a key component in identifying opportunities within the ALS function and you will be listening to depots feedback and using Walmart software tools to source, validate and manipulate data to build reports and dashboards.

The role covers all areas of ALS from warehouse to transport and stakeholders such as regional ALS teams along with supply, retail and finance. The role is a regional based role reporting into the central team working in Asda House. Your location will be local depot or Asda House or occasionally at home. The role requires the ability to work on own using software tools for report development. The role involves looking forward to see what new software is available to improve the end users experience with data and how we can utilise mobility and app development to support our central and operational teams to serve our customers better than anyone else.

What you’ll be responsible for:Using SQL and VBA coding to access data from warehouse and transport databases to develop MI and BI to unlock the biggest value for ALS.Maintaining existing reporting tool Exago for our GLS depot network and developing new reports via coding.Creation of dashboards through software tools such as Tableau to provide live and historical analysis of network performance.Integrate data from internal and external data sources to provide end to end supply chain visibility.Engagement with sites to understand current frustrations and opportunities where data can unlock value.Learn and use new technology and software to improve the end user experience and drive mobility of data within ALS.About you:Strong SQL knowledge is fundamental for this roleExcellent excel skills and ability to write and understand VBA codingAbility to engage, challenge and influence to gain user stories from colleaguesPrevious use of data software such as Alteryx and TableauAbility to learn new software on a regular basis and future apprenticeship opportunitiesSolid operational understanding- logisticsExcellent communication skills
