SCENIC CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST – SCAREFEST 2019

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of our Entertainments Scenic
Construction Scarefest Team within our fantastical resort. We are looking to
recruit people with skills in multiple fields such as carpentry, scenic
painting, prop making, sculpting, metal work and installation - to help us
deliver our Halloween Scarefest Spectacular.  This is a really broad role touching on all
aspects of scenic construction and installation on a massive scale as this is
one of the largest events of their kind in the UK. We are looking for a varied
team with impressive material knowledge, and creative ability with a strong and
dedicated work ethic in order to bring our event to life for hundreds of
thousands of people.

The
requirements:

As well as working behind the scenes, you'll also spend some of your time
in a guest-facing environment so we need someone flexible, with a fantastic
blend of creative and interpersonal skills. Your previous experience in scenic
construction (be it theatre, film, event, workshop based or site specific) will
have given you working knowledge of different methods of scenic production,
including joinery, metal work, carving & sculpting, fiberglassing/mould
making and scenic painting. Problem solving skills are a must as some of our
venues are listed buildings or require installation around existing attractions
at the Resort. The ability to read and work independently from plans is a
definite advantage, as is willingness to utilise your wide range of skills by
being both workshop based, and getting stuck in helping with the transport and
installation of materials and set pieces around the Resort to any of our venues
during get in/out periods. Being a great team player is crucial, and, as this
is a very hands on role, the ability to lift heavy loads and work at height is
a must. You'll be happy to work in and outdoors and definitely have a passion
for delivering and creating fantastic, immersive themed environments
