Your day to day

As Events Supervisor, you will assist the Events Management team to ensure all events are successfully delivered at one of Glasgow’s leading venues. You will supervise the team to set the event as per the client’s requirements and exceed guest expectations by delivering an exceptional event experience to ensure the Glasgow Grand Central Hotel is their venue of choice time and time again. You will support the team with service delivery, delivery of key training and administrative needs; 

  • Read and understand the daily business sheet, checking with the duty manager for any additional details.
  • To ensure that all staff are delegated accordingly to ensure that all tasks for the day are covered and completed to a high standard 
  • To assist in the departmental induction of all new colleagues in the C&B Department, including all necessary training, paperwork and online on-boarding 
  • The professional handling of complaints, finding positive solutions for guests who have issues
  • To ensure that all bar and event spaces are locked when unattended and that all stock is kept secure at all times 
  • To follow closing down procedures when closing events in the evening and ensure that all necessary cleaning tasks are completed to the proper standard before the end of the shift 

What we need from you

We’re looking for someone who is naturally passionate about creating a great hospitality environment, someone who can show confidence in their role and someone who knows exactly how to deliver exceptional customer service. We are looking for;

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a previous supervisory role
  • Someone with a passion for working in Hospitality
  • Someone with a good knowledge and understanding of the use of function sheets and the preparation of events from an operational point of view
  • An individual who can bring commitment and positivity to their job role
  • Someone who thrives under pressure, especially in a demanding environment
  • Flexibility in a working schedule e.g. weekends and evenings
