Accommodation Reception Coordinator (fixed term) - Bath

Department: Accommodation Operations

Salary: Starting from £19,202, rising to £21,414

Grade: 4

Between June and September, the ahs department at the University of Bath becomes Bath’s biggest hotel with over 3000 rooms situated at the beautiful Claverton Down campus, just a short walk or bus ride into the city centre. We are seeking a fantastic Reception Coordinator to oversee the smooth running of our service within the large operation we run.

You’ll be the first and last face that our guests see so it’s up to you and your team to leave a lasting impression. You will arrange reservations, welcome guests and display a positive approach with all who you come into contact with. You’ll be responsible for the allocation of hotel bedrooms, liaising closely with our Accommodation Operations team.

During University term-time, it’s just as important to deliver excellent customer service to our students. You and your team will point students in the right direction with any queries they may have. You’ll ensure that all new starters receive a fantastic induction and train new members of the team. You’ll also be a role model for delivering excellent customer service at all times. Longer-term projects and planning will be a key part of your role during term-time.

This role will provide cover in the absence of the Receptions Team Leader. Ideally, you will have experience in a hotel reception or similar. Whilst this would be an advantage, it’s your personality and attitude that we are interested in.

This is a full-time role (36.5 hours per week over 5 days) and will include weekends and evening work. This opportunity is for a fixed term role which is expected to end in April 2020.

We offer a generous package of pay, benefits and services including:

  • A competitive rate of pay
  • A generous pension scheme
  • Up to 25 days annual leave per year, eight banks holidays and five extra discretionary days
  • A 36.5 hour week and no split shifts
  • We close over the Christmas break but you’re still paid for this time off
  • Regular awards for shining stars, from Love2Shop vouchers up to annual awards!
  • A commitment to the wellbeing of our teams, with mindfulness sessions, fitness boot camps and free health checks
  • Great staff social events
  • A staff suggestion scheme, with the chance to share your ideas and earn a vouchers
  • The chance to develop, with many training courses and job shadowing opportunities
  • Up to 20 hours a year personal development time for fitness classes, training, volunteering and charity work
  • Tax and national insurance savings through salary exchange schemes on nursery care, childcare vouchers, cycle-to-work and fitness schemes
