Shift Engineer - Hakkasan Mayfair

Purpose of Position

Maintain the smooth running of the operations by managing the repair and range of electrical and mechanical catering equipment including cook line, bakery, specialist light equipment, refrigeration compactors, lighting and other static and portable electrical equipment, systems and circuitry both in our restaurant sites and at our production kitchen location.

Key Accountabilities

  • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and record on CAFM.
  • Respond promptly to service call requests from the General Manager and the Facilities Manager.
  • Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  • Ensure suitable stock of spares are available on site.
  • Carry out minor work and within scope of works.
  • Liaise with the Facilities Manager on major investments, modernisation and other relevant works ensuring they are completed on time and with minimal disruption.
  • Advise the General Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the operation on a daily basis. This may also include regular weekly meetings to discuss current issues and outstanding work progression.
  • Inducts external contractors to working in the site checking the qualifications/cards of operatives e.g. CSCS, ESC, HVAC etc.
  • Signs off contractor work as complete and closes the receipt loop for time on site.
  • Cover evening and weekend shifts as and when required (including Bank holidays).
  • Cover the Out of Hours Engineering phone on a rota basis (Over 7 days), offering support and if needed attend site to fix the issue.
  • Be willing to travel to any of the restaurant sites and also production kitchen located in the designated area.
  • Be available to cover hours outside of the planned rota to help with business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Electrical based qualifications such as Part P Electrical installers wiring regulations and be willing to work towards the full City and Guilds 2393-10 Qualification.
  • Managing the ordering of spares.
  • Up to date ESC H&S Assessment pass.
  • Working with a CAFM system.
