Senior Activity Coach (Tutor) - Nationwide

At trainwithpremier.com we deliver a variety of training courses and qualifications across the UK. We are constantly evolving and growing, creating the need for more experienced tutors, assessor and educators to join our expanding team. Through our networks we deliver a wide variety of qualifications to a range of learners from those just starting out on their career as a coach/Activity Professional or those more experienced looking to up-skill themselves through a number of different CPD opportunities.

We are hiring free-lance activity Tutors to deliver our training and courses within; Sports, Business, Health & Wellbeing and Performing Arts across the UK. You will be required to work a minimum of 20 days per year. We will provide full training over 4 weeks to give you the knowledge to deliver courses in the subject areas you excel best in and have experience delivering.

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 3/4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector [CTLLS].
  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector [DTLLS].
  • Certificate in Education or Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

Hold or be working towards:

  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement.
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
  • ENTO Unit D32/33 or the A1/A2 Assessor Units.
  • 1st4sport Introduction to Assessment Practice in Sport (IAPS) qualification.

Job Description

A Teaching and Learning

  • To take a key role in the delivery and development of the various courses on offer.
  • To teach/tutor/deliver a range of qualifications and courses as directed by the Train With Premier course manager.
  • To manage, develop, promote and review the learning programmes and be aware of and apply national trends and relevant developments
  • Annotate schemes of work and lesson plans in advance and prepare teaching materials/resources for all teaching
  • To respond to new issues affecting programme delivery and student learning/training activities
  • To review teaching inputs regularly in the context of changing needs of learners and programmes.
  • To prepare and assemble suitable teaching materials and learning resources for the delivery of all courses designated.
  • To use and evaluate teaching techniques/methods appropriate to learner groups.
  • To maximise learner success, achievement and retention
  • To identify and respond to students’ needs and welfare with counselling, guidance, support to own competence and, where necessary, refer to appropriate alternative provision.
  • To carry out assessments of learning consistent with TWP processes and the requirements of relevant awarding bodies.
  • To lecture and provide appropriate support in the teaching of a range of qualifications in related disciplines
  • Ensure delivery creates a positive learning environment that is learner centred, structured and progressive.
  • Monitor and evaluate all sessions in order to adapt and improve on previous delivery.
  • Deliver courses within a specific time.
  • Whilst delivering courses the tutor must act as a personal tutor and therefore be responsible for a group of learners, providing timely, transparent and fair tutorial and other support to them as appropriate;
  • Be responsible for learner progress, including setting and monitoring of learner targets;
  • Guide learners towards extra support services, courses, resources, reading

B Administration

  • To maintain up-to-date syllabi for all courses taught.
  • To have available and maintain schemes of work for all courses, copies of each to be logged in the course online technical file.
  • To contribute to the organisation and administration of placements as required.
  • To maintain up-to-date records, reports, profiles, course files etc.
  • To participate in the enrolments of students.
  • To carry out the general administrative duties associated with the post, including registers, and relevant learner information
  • To contribute to the marketing, promotions and enhancing of the profile of the programme area.
  • Ensure statistics for learner attendance and achievement are monitored and acted upon when necessary;
  • Complete learner registers accurately and on time

C Standards and Policies

  • To ensure the implementation of Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding when representing TWP.
  • To ensure the implementation of Health, Safety and Welfare policies when operating for TWP.
  • To participate in all self-assessment and quality procedures required by TWP in order to implement the TWP Quality Improvement Strategy.
  • To be committed to professional development
  • To contribute to the marketing, promotions and enhancing of the profile of the programme area.
  • Contribute to and attend meetings, events and working parties as requested;

D General

  • To safeguard all participants from harm and to report concerns in accordance with the TWP internal referral arrangements.
  • To foster good relationships and advance equality of opportunity between different groups and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
  • To assist in the recruitment of learners to the TWP courses as required by TWP senior teams
  • To deal professionally with colleagues and external partners as required.
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all the TWP documentation and information.
  • To attend training/refresher courses and meetings as required by the TWP
  • To co-operate and take part in the TWP CQI process including 1-2-1 meetings and observations.
  • To carry out other such appropriate duties that maybe reasonably required to successfully carry out the role.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Willing to travel, have a full driving license and have access to own transport.
  • Available to attend standardisation meetings.
