Asset Design Manager - Ennismore London

We’re looking for an ambitious Asset Design Manager to help us keep high standards of design across our existing portfolio.

You’ll be a crucial bridge between our design and site operations teams and provide fast-paced design services to support the success of our businesses. We’re looking for someone with 6-8 years’ experience in design within hospitality, who has a keen eye for design and is a fantastic collaborator.

You’ll be based at Ennismore Sessions House in London, with the rest of our Interior Design team -currently 20 people strong, most permanent and some freelance, including a mix of skill sets from graduate designers to senior managers. You’ll travel frequently to be our eyes on the ground across our existing and new properties.

What you’ll do…

Post-opening design projects

  • We’re always looking for ways to improve how our spaces work, and we’ll look to you to work with our teams on delivering any tweaks and changes after opening
  • Lead design & delivery of small projects, such as space planning, joinery design and new furniture and accessories specifications

Annual capex projects and up keep

  • Our spaces are well-used and frequently need refreshing! You’ll work with the hotel GMs to keep an eye on wear and tear, proactively look for improvements to be made and be one step ahead on fixing damaged items
  • Use existing suppliers to replace items, or find great alternatives when a like-for-like isn’t possible, managing budgets & expectations on lead times
  • Creatively source interesting and unique accessories to keep our spaces looking full and homely

Ad-hoc requests and styling

  • We want our guests to keep coming back to our beautiful spaces, so we’ll ask you to create concepts for styling and visual merchandising of retail displays, bars and pastry displays, and pull together specifications for purchases
  • Make it easy for our operations teams across various sites to replicate your vision by documenting display set ups and design & furniture arrangements
  • Create concepts for special events setups, floral direction and seasonal decorations to be installed at key moments throughout the year

What we’re looking for…

  • A meticulous designer with an eye for detail and experience in hospitality environments
  • Technical and creative flair in both FF&E and joinery design using AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe packages to convey your designs
  • Commercial awareness, knowing how to deliver quality within realistic budgets, in a fast pace environment
  • Comfortable working in a client capacity, making sensible decisions for the good of the business
  • Someone who is highly organised and able to juggle multiple projects effectively with a positive attitude
  • An excellent relationship builder, comfortable influencing with and without authority; you’re a confident communicator who inspires trust
  • Willingness to challenge decisions and think creatively about new opportunities to improve our spaces
  • You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits for us
  • You’re not precious; we all leave our egos at the door and help get shit done
  • You’ve got ideas; we’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience
  • You’re easy to talk to. If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and a few laughs
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way

What’s in it for you…

  • Join one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK
  • 25 days holiday (and bank holidays), plus pension, a competitive salary and nifty rewards for going the extra mile and living our values
  • Excellent discounts across the entire Ennismore family for you and your nearest and dearest (even after you leave!)
  • Plenty of opportunity to progress and change it up across a diverse, global family of brands
  • Training and Development that helps you think, make and thrive at work
  • Free lunch before payday as a treat at the end of the month
  • Time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities
  • Regular team get togethers, from our weekly drinks to our (pretty special!) bi-annual parties…we know how to have a good time!
