Assistant Club Manager - Newbury

30 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and commercially astute Assistant Club Manager at Lifestyle Fitness – Newbury.  Working closely with the Club Manager, you will be expected to retain and expand the Club’s membership by ensuring that the highest operational standards are maintained and encouraging a positive and welcoming environment.

The post is ideal for an individual who is passionate about health and fitness and is looking to develop a management career in the industry.

The role objectives

Sales

Ensure that a proactive approach to generating leads and converting them into sales is taken by the Club’s Team.

Liaise with the Club Manager to ensure that new members are attracted to join the Gym.

Alongside the Club Manager, establish excellent relations with current membership and work to continually improve the Gym’s retention rates.

Complete gym tours with prospective customers.

Liaise with the senior management team providing regular feedback on membership numbers and campaigns.

Operations

Assist the Club Manager with the operational management of the club and the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Liaise with the Club Manager to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are attained and the equipment is properly maintained.

Supervise the Club’s staff and service delivery from the Personal Training team. 

Assist with the club’s class provision.

Who is the right person for this role?

  • A proactive individual who is comfortable working within a target driven environment.
  • Level 2 Fitness Qualification is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within a customer service environment are essential. 
  • An ability to work collaboratively with others and when required provide leadership for the team. 
  • You will be able to work autonomously, contacting support functions when necessary to seek advice or resolve any potential issues.
  • Experience in a fitness environment or an active interest in the industry would be desirable.

 

 

The role holder is required to work at least 30 hours a week, with some evening hours. Weekend working maybe required occasionally. A DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidate.
