Trainee Butcher

Our Daylesford family is growing, and we are looking for an engaging and passionate Trainee Butcher to join our Retail team.

Full Time contract, based on 40 hours per week, up to approx. £20,000 pa. including service charge.

About you

As a Trainee Butcher in our retail department, you will be able to champion the quality of our meat in store ensuring the merchandise counter looks immaculate and attractive at all times.

You will be able to deliver an excellent customer service, sharing the great food experience with our customers. The role will require energy and shed-loads of confidence as you will be working in a fast paced and fun environment as part of a supportive team. No previous Butchery experience required, although previous kitchen experience and good knife skills would be a advantage.  

We are open 7 days a week so being able to work flexibly is vital. You’ll be chatting to our customers every day so having a great level of spoken English is pretty important too.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
  • Champion the quality of fresh meat in store
  • Champion beautifully merchandised counter display and appropriate POS
  • Ensure customer delight within the store
  • Follow the lead of the Head Butcher, working closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to utilise product coming towards the end of life
  • Complete daily & weekly paperwork accurately and on time

Daylesford is one of the most sustainable organic farms and own some of the most sustainable restaurants in the whole country.

Our food comes straight from our farm to your fork: our meat and poultry, fruit and vegetables from our market garden, bread from our bakery, and cheese, milk and yoghurt from our creamery.
