Location: Wet n Wild (Royal Quays, North Shields NE29 6DA)

Contract Type: Fixed Term March to October

Salary: £8.70 per hour

 

We are currently recruiting for a number of Supervisors to work as part of the large operational team within a busy leisure environment to work up to 16 hours at weekends and more hours between Monday to Friday when it’s half term.

 

Wet `n` Wild is the North East`s largest indoor water park. Situated in North Shields, just beside Royal Quays shopping centre, Wet `n` Wild offers 10 exciting thrill rides, a great cafe, mini water park, fully stocked shop and a host of fully trained staff.

Key Purpose of the role?

To assist the DM’s and Contract Manager with the running of the building and supporting all departments

 

Key Duties

• To assist the Duty Manager / Contract Manager in delivering Serco’s internal Management System.
• To assist in managing the operational team ensuring the adherence to all policy and procedures.
• To assist in the personal development of individuals and teams and to ensure compliance with all HSE guidance and safe working practices.
• To develop, manage and maintain excellent relations with customers and employees.
• To support the commercial vision of the business to ensure the financial plan is met
• To deliver and support, ongoing lifeguard training and H&S training.
• To supervise staff and carry out adhoc performance checks
• To work poolside as and when required
• To help out in all departments when required
• To assist with cashing up, banking and safe checks
• To communicate with customers and deal with general complaints

 

What are we looking for?

• Previous Leisure experience at Supervisor / Senior Recreational Assistant level
• A strong commercial awareness
• IT skills and working with a computerised booking system.
• Customer service skills
• Problem solving
• Staff supervisory skills 
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety at Work legislation and its practical application
• Experience working in a catering role
• Have a strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
• Excellent team player with good organisation skills
• Experience of cash handling
• Food handling certificates / qualifications(Desirable)
• Pool Plant Operators Qualification (PPO)(Desirable)
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) (Essential)
