Just Eat Cycles is Edinburgh’s cycle hire scheme. The bikes are a quick and easy way to get from A to B around Edinburgh. Most people use it as an alternative to public transportation for everyday journeys like commuting, getting to places or just as a fun way to experience the city.

 

Bikes can be hired 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days year so you can always access the bikes when you need one.

We are recruiting for a Redistribution Team Leader on a full time basis, 40 Hours per week.

The job is a front line management role within the Edinburgh Cycle Hire Scheme on-street operation. The Redistribution Team Leader role will focus upon Productivity, Staff Engagement, Attendance and Safety & Security for front line redistribution operational staff. The Redistribution Team Leader will ensure teams are empowered to deliver service excellence in the delivery of Redistribution, Triage, Hubs, Bike Recovery and Quick Response. This will be done through supporting staff and developing the Redistribution staff, which will be achieved through excellent HR abilities, people skills and on-street presence.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Deliver the first line management for redistribution employees, including productivity, attendance and general HR.
  • Drive Continuous improvement in on-street operations and understand key Redistribution performance indicators.
  • Deliver yellow belt lean projects to improve redistribution processes (subject to training).
  • Provide management focus on employee engagement, safety, productivity and attendance.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve bike quality and maintenance efficiency through continuous feedback on processes and parts.
  • Be prepared to cover for redistribution tasks if the situation requires, i.e. staff shortages or increased demand.
  • Assist and supervise regular redistribution employee assessments.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the productivity of the team and that daily production targets are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment, empower the team to drive a tidy vehicle agenda.
  • Act at all times as a role model for Serco/Cycle Hire, our clients and sponsors and wear correct uniform and identification at all times.
  • Ensure that any breaches of security, fraud, vandalism and abuse relating to Serco/Cycle Hire assets and staff are identified and reported to avoid and reduce crime.
  • Satisfactorily complete and pass all mandatory and refresher training; including periodic checks and assessments.

Essential Experience and Criteria which will make you a success in the role will include:

  • Clean full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of lean practices.
  • Excellence knowledge of HR processes.
  • Experience of managing people.
  • Leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent communicator and proactively seeks information.
  • R Driving experience in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Trustworthy, reliable and flexible.
  • Problem resolution skills.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Experience working with IT software including Microsoft Office and using mapping technology.
  • Vigorous approach to following processes and procedures.
