Your day to day

After a big meeting far away from home, or a long wait for a delayed flight, is there anyone more welcoming than a smiling Bartender? As the friendly face of our hotel bars, you’ll also be a helpful host, a local expert, and a proud brand ambassador. Whether you’re preparing drinks exactly as our guests want or serving them delicious food, you’ll be devoted to creating relaxing, memorable experiences.

What we need from you

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. To assist the Restaurant & Bars Team to maintain a high professional standard of performance at all times. To ensure the highest standards of quality, service and customer care are maintained in the Bar areas. Guests’ needs should be anticipated whenever possible to enhance the quality of service and ultimately the guests’ satisfaction.
  2. To ensure Bar areas are kept to a hygienic standard of cleanliness and tidiness, together with the hygienic handling of all drink and food to ensure drink and food safety.
  3. To greet customers, take and price orders for everything available for sale and serve according to the standard of the centre with good social skills.
  4. Prepares and serves drinks according to recipes for guests and servers.
  5. Ensures standardization and consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality.
  6. To ensure equipment is maintained in order that it remains in effective working order, with correct storage to minimise damage to any piece of equipment.
  7. Performs accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  8. To adhere to control procedures as set by Management for the security of monies and stock.  To ensure that unauthorised personnel are kept out of the bar areas at all times.
  9. To be responsible for the safe and secure control of the Bar liquor stock, glassware and sundries.
  10. Maintains inventory at par levels.
  11. Responsibility to sell on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new strategies for increasing the check average of each guest.  Responsible to “up sell” on any given opportunity. Using the Bar Food menu as another selling tool.
  12. Checks identification for proof of age when required.
  13. Invites and welcomes guests back upon completion of their visit.
  14. Prepares bar for next shift.
  15. Ensures the order and cleanliness of the bar is in accordance to health and safety regulations.
  16. Performs all duties in adherence to all company standards.
  17. Any other reasonable request as required.
  18. Efficiently and properly performs all service and sequence of service standards.
  19. Sets up and breaks down the bar area
  20. Maintains inventory at par levels.
  21. Greets and acknowledges guests promptly and in a friendly manner.
  22. Ensures standardization and consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality.
  23. Responsibility to sell on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new strategies for increasing the check average of each guest. 
  24. Responsible to “up sell” on any given opportunity.
  25. Checks identification for proof of age when required.
  26. Builds a rapport with guests while serving them.
  27. Monitors guest’s drinks and anticipates guest’s needs.
  28. Prepares bar for next shift.
  29. Performs accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
