We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team, here at Asda House in Leeds. You’ll be responsible for achieving objectives for specific campaigns/ marketing activities and segments by analysing customer trends and behaviours. You’ll ensure we integrate the customer perspective into the commercial proposition, prioritising activities and provide inputs to campaign development.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Assess marketing plans created by Marketing Strategy and Planning team as well as marketing requirements consolidated by Commercial Execution team
• Create first cut priorities by reviewing the alignment of marketing requirements with the overall strategy and develop a prioritised list of activities to be undertaken during the year. Iterate on the plan based on inputs from Commercial and Customer Leadership teams
• Be the conduit between Commercial and Customer and craft strategic marketing solutions by understanding all forms of marketing activities and channels
• Accountable for specific category related promotions and activities, big box events, own brand campaigns, range changes etc. – analyse past performance, provide customer insights and perspectives to inform commercial decisions, understand the commercial briefs, create marketing briefs, gather nominations and other commercial inputs, communicate the requirements to Creatives teams
• Contribute to developing findings for Customer Planning Committee (CPC)
• Provide inputs to the creatives designed for POS, Promos, Campaigns, Events and other changes to ensure it is aligned to customer requirements
• Define the target customer and brand proposition. Provide customer insights and brand related inputs to inform decisions on Asda brand architecture and hierarchy
• Participate in annual brand planning cycle and P&L setting process for specific assigned brands
• Responsible for the leadership of a team, maintaining the standards set out for all colleagues in the handbook and policies through role modelling and coaching up to the standard. Manage individual and team performance against role and objectives through talent and appraisal processes

About you:

You’ll have -
  • Experience within a marketing role, ideally within a retail environment (agency or client side)
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing channels, events, campaigns
  • Understanding of commercial category strategies
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects, work under pressure and to tight deadlines with a flexible approach
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders across the business
  • Ability to produce and present clear, engaging and concise presentations, with confidence in using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal & stakeholder management skills, able to proactively network across functions and influence at all levels
