Hostel / General Manager - YHA Oxford

YHA Oxford is brilliantly located beside Oxford railway station, a purpose-built youth hostel that suits the needs of a range of travellers and visitors to this magnificent and historic city.  Just a short stroll from the city centre, with its array of university buildings and pretty grass areas. 

YHA Oxford boasts facilities including a restaurant, a peaceful library, a lounge with pool table and a luggage room.  This 203-bed hostel is spread across 3 floors with a mixture of small family/private rooms and larger group style rooms.

Our London Hostel / General Manager vacancies are much sort after and the vacancy at YHA Oxford is no exception, with its diverse clientele base from backpackers, families, individuals and groups.

As Hostel / General Manager you will:

• Ensure excellent customer service is maintained at all times
• Achieve 5 star standards of cleanliness
• Drive sales opportunities and controlling Profit & Loss
• Manage, develop and motivate all employees
• Establish and maintain great relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Continually seek area for improvement to the overall products and service within the hostel
• Proactively review and respond to customer feedback
• Ensure the maintenance of the building remains at the highest possible standard

In order to be a great Hostel / General Manager we are looking for people who can:

• Demonstrate previous management experience within the hospitality industry / hotel industry
• Show previous experience of managing, developing and motivating others
• Analyse monthly Profit and Loss Accounts to drive and increase performance
• Demonstrate previous experience of managing and delivering a Food and Beverage function
• Show a good understanding of YHAs culture and values
• Put the customer at the heart of everything you do
