WZ HR Team Administrator (Full-Time / 12 Months Maternity Cover Contract)

Role Profile

ZSL is looking for an HR Team Administrator to support the HR function based at Whipsnade Zoo, to ensure the smooth running of the team.  It is a busy and demanding work environment, requiring you to have a good work ethic and strong experience within an administrative position.  The successful applicant will report directly to the full time Senior HR & Training Business Partner however will have scope to work closely with the wider HR team and other areas of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writing and issuing employment contracts to new starters, and contract extension/amendment letters.
  • Onboarding and inputting new starter details and other personal detail changes onto the HR & Payroll database system.
  • Recording and monitoring sickness levels across WZ and ensuring that the sickness policy and process is applied as appropriate.
  • Issuing and chasing employment reference requests.
  • Supports the Recruitment Officer with inviting candidates to interviews, preparing packs for interview panels, assisting on seasonal recruitment days and other associated recruitment administrative tasks.
  • Internal mail-outs, including the issuing of complimentary tickets and salary increase letters.
  • Overseeing the probation process, ensuring that all meetings are happening at relevant times and that necessary action is taken.
  • Overseeing the flexible working request process
  • Overseeing the family leave processes
  • Monitoring of PDR process, that it is being carried out effectively and that HR receive all completed PDR forms back from managers.
  • Running the WZ Social committee and ensuring that events of a high standard are delivered
  • Minute taking & correspondence
  • Managing all email queries and electronic personnel files.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) with desirably a HR qualification (Level 3 CIPD).
  • Experience of using HR databases and other IT systems.
  • Be highly organised and be excellent at prioritising and multi-tasking.
  • Have excellent numerical, written communication and computer skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have previous experience working as an HR Administrator with desirably some previous experience of HR advising.
