Corporate Sales Manager - The Standard London

At the heart of our hotels are of course of people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as a Corporate Sales Manager.

Your role

As our Corporate Sales Manager, you will work in partnership with our Director of Sales and Global sales teams to oversee our key Corporate market for the hotel. As our first international property outside the USA you will help develop the sales and business development strategy to target key corporate accounts travelling inbound to London. We do of course already have a many US and international clients using our existing properties, so you won’t be starting from a completely blank canvas.

You will of course meet and entertain all of key corporate VIP guests, partners and travel managers, through individual dinners, or larger fam-trips which will allow you to showcase our property (both pre and post opening). As a new property your clients will expect to be wowed so operationally you will coordinate services and follow-up with other Heads of Departments to ensure delivery of exceptional guest service; that will not only delight our guest, but create the ultimate guest experience in London, that is anything but Standard!

In addition to hosting clients onsite your role will also involve international travel in order to develop key corporate feeder markets; from within the UK and Europe. This may include roadshows, sales calls and international travel trade fairs to promote not only The Standard, London but also our wider group. This is not a ‘Standard’ Sales Manager job so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.

While prior experience in a similar role is always useful all are welcome at the Standard; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for sales and be able to build genuine relationships with clients that enable us to not only pre-empt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

  • A proven track record as a Corporate Sales Manager or Sales Executiverole with the ability to inspire and motivate a small team.
  • You will ideally have experience gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ or boutique hotel sector
  • Have prior experience of developing account leads, contracting accounts, RFP proposals and account management to increase production
  • Highly motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
  • Opening experience preferred
  • Expert abilities in Opera and Delphi
