The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa offers a fantastic opportunity to anyone looking to join a rapidly growing business with an ambition to be a significant landmark hotel. The 71 bedroom  4 AA star hotel also plays host to a wide array of activities on the 1400 acre estate which includes; a state of the art spa, a Shooting Ground (CPSA Premier standard), Falconry Centre, 4x4 Off-Road Experience, Fly-Fishing on the 24 acre lake or River Aire and Archery.

The Huntsman’s Lodge and 2 AA Rosette Restaurant Macleod’s restaurant and bar form the heart of the hotel and both offer a wide range of locally produced food. We offer excellent conference and meeting facilities forming the base of unique team building days. Weddings are also a significant part of our business.

We are a family run hotel which is privately owned by the Bannister family, who are involved in the day to day running of the business.

The existing 170 Coniston Hotel team are very customer centered and if you pride yourself on delivering excellent customer service then you will fit in well.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The role holder will maximise wedding sales by converting enquiries into business on the books and pro-actively looking at ways to improve sales. Responsible for weddings from the point of initial enquiry to coordinating the wedding day, ensuring that the bridal parties’ expectations are not only met but exceeded.

Another key focus of the role is processing in a timely manner all aspects of wedding administration including responding to wedding enquiries, sending out information, making follow up calls to ensure brochures have been received, sending out quotes, arranging and managing show rounds, chasing deposits, completing final details, completing function sheets and liaising with reservations on the rooming lists.

Reporting to:  Senior Wedding Co-ordinator

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Taking initial enquiries via telephone, email and face to face
  • Compile accurate information ensuring full customer data is taken and uploaded to our PMS system
  • Preparing bespoke quotes considering the specific needs of the client
  • Arrange and conduct show rounds for potential clients
  • Pursuing clients to follow up on enquiries 24 hours after initial proposal
  • Manage contracts, deposits, confirmations and payments
  • Ensure that all event details are up to date
  • Manage on site wedding shows and communicate with team as required   
  • Manage all aspects of wedding administration from initial enquiry to post event feedback
  • Analyse and act upon post event feedback  
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure the clients expectations are exceeded on their wedding day; coordinating the day  
  • Proactively promote the Hotel, Spa and Estate as a destination venue at all times

PERSON SPECIFICATION   

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry in a customer facing role.   
  • Computer literate, with an understanding of an extensive reservations system
  • Well presented with a positive and friendly presence 
  • Commercially driven with sales experience
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship builder both with clients and colleagues
  • Able to multi-task and manage a varied workload
  • Flexible approach to working hours across the seven day week  
  • Knowledge of the local area and the hotel
  • An understanding of the wedding market
  • A desire to develop and grow the role
