A unique exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Tadley Swimming Pool who are recruiting for a number of Part Time Trainee Lifeguards to work various hours as detailed below:

• Sunday 8 hours
• 4 to 8 hours between Monday to Friday 6am-5pm.
• 4 hours 6-10pm Monday to Friday

The 25m pool makes Tadley Swimming Pool the ideal venue for both learning to swim, practicing your technique or simply keeping healthy.

Key purpose of role: 

The role of the Lifeguard is to work within the centre ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care at all times. The role will involve supervision of specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and the safe handling and set up of equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

No previous Lifeguarding experience required, this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard and can meet the minimum requirements in a swim test.

We will hold swim assessments at time of interview.

To pass the swim test you must be able to do the following:

• Swim 8 lengths (4 on front & 4 on back total 200 meters)
• Tread water for 1 minute
• Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool and retrieve object (deepest part 1.8 meters)
• Swim 2 lengths (50 meters) in under 60 seconds
• Climb out unassisted (not using steps)

A fully financed and supported NPLQ course will be run for successful applicants at the Basingstoke Aquadrome.

The NPLQ course dates are below so please make sure you can attend before applying:

Monday February 18th 9.15 for 9.30am start finish at 6.30pm

Tuesday 19th 9am to 5.30pm

Wednesday 20th 9.30am-6pm

Thursday 21st 9am-5.30pm

Friday 22nd 9am-5pm

Assessment on weekend
