General Manager - The Swan Tarporley

A fantastic opportunity has now arisen to lead the team at the Swan. With relevant experience, in a fresh food environment, you will relish the chance to develop your career. We are looking for an individual that not only demonstrates the skills listed below, but also has the ability to apply individual leadership and decision making to ensure our goals are achieved.

As General Manager you will:

  • Engage with your customers and host the venue, ensuring all customers receive a high standard of hospitality and customer care
  • Deal with all functions, events and special occasions, ensuring that they are well managed, and customer’s needs are met
  • Lead, train, develop and motivate your team, ensuring they work to your high standards
  • Control all budgets and your P&L account, achieving the company requirements
  • Manage your kitchen team to ensure a smooth progress through the dining experience
  • Market the venue to nearby villages and towns, utilise the local facilities and promote the business to increase trade
  • Oversee the day to day operation of the business as well as develop the long-term growth strategy

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has worked in a food and beverage site with turnover of on average £40,000 per week
  • Leads from the front and is hands on with the team and the customers
  • Has managed in excess of 20 staff members
  • Understands fresh food and how to get the best from the kitchen team
  • Can run the rooms aspect of the business, with an understanding of booking systems and managing guest expectations
