We are looking for a fryer to join our Marsh Farm family and work 25-35 hours a week. Fryers are mainly responsible for operating the Churchill’s store in accordance with the standards laid out in the Operating Manual, and maintaining a high level of quality, service and cleanliness, in line with Brand Standards. They are responsible at all times for the staff within their shop when they are running a shift and are responsible for the cash management, stock control and any ordering that is needed to be done. To carry out the health, safety, welfare, hygiene and quality aspects of their duties in accordance with laid down procedures.

Responsibilities

  • To prepare and cook all menu items in line with demand and to a high standard using a variety of equipment and tools in a busy kitchen environment. An ability to understand and act upon Churchill’s methods of production and quality control is essential. To be familiar with the preparation and cooking methods of all menu items as described in the Operations manual and to comply with its requirements in all its aspects. Moving various stock items (some heavy) from main stock areas to kitchen storage will be required on a very regular basis each shift and you will experience long periods of standing.
  • To ensure an excellent level of cleanliness throughout the business by acting upon and maintaining a written cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of cleaning materials and equipment. Ensure COSHH regulations are up to date and guidelines in the use of PPE are accurate.
  • Always be available to deal with any concerns that customers may have and seek a solution to every issue that goes beyond what might ordinarily be expected. Reassure customers by projecting a smart and authoritative image.
  • Ensure the health and safety of customers and colleagues by assisting staff to adhere to appropriate legislation.
  • Promote a positive attitude towards work and always lead by example.
  • Ensure all our equipment is in good working order for staff to use safely.
  • Direct the team to exceed the needs of our customers.
  • To make management aware of any faulty equipment or unsuitable products.
  • To maintain personal hygiene and to comply with uniform standards at all times.
  • To adhere to the Staff Handbook and Training Manual.
  • To account for all monies received from customers when cashing up the cash registers.
  • To promote and up sell any current or future promotions.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required.
  • To understand their representation of Churchill’s, therefore acting accordingly.
  • To remain professional with co-workers at all times.

Requirements

  • A good level of physical stamina and fitness, as the job involves a lot of standing, long working hours and being able to do a range of manual handling tasks on an hourly basis
