An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager at Dearne Valley Farm (S70 5SZ)

As with all Farmhouse Inns, it is a food-led operation offering a hearty breakfast, signature carvery and homemade cakes.

Dearne Valley Farm has been open for 2 years now and is currently in a very positive state of turnaround. The last 8 months we have made massive changes to get this business back into growth and make key decisions within the business to create a great guest experience and a more positive environment for our team to work. Located in south Barnsley we have a lot of housing around us, we are on a busy dual carriage way between Barnsley and Sheffield and have created some great community links within the last 6 months. Our location is next to some fast food outlets, petrol station, factories and a car supermarket with future development of housing and other leisure facilities still to come. As with all Farmhouse Inns, we are food led with our signature carvery, hearty breakfasts and popular homemade cake away's. We are always looking for the best people to come and join our team and now have a vacancy for a Deputy/Assistant manager to support the GM, to assist with developing the team and making this business a great success and a great place to visit. The GM has worked in Farmhouse Inns for 8 years and has developed through the career ladder in Greene king and is passionate in supporting and developing their team as well. We have a lot of new shoots within the business, it is face paced with many different challenges week by week. We are looking for someone who has a real pride and passion in their role who is hungry to learn, can adapt easily. You must be customer focused, self driven to be the best and have great leadership skills. Ideally you are currently in a Deputy or Assistant role already, with a great track record in a food lead business.

We call it, "You are the WOW". You'll call it, "doing what you do best". The purpose of your role will be to support the General Manager to manage a high volume business within a complex food operation, but also having a commercial eye to spot potential opportunities to push the site forward. Leading and developing a large team will be another key part in your role along with keeping the customer in the heart of everything you do.

About you:

You will be an experienced Assistant/ Deputy Manager who has a proven track record in food led pub/restaurant business. This would be a great step for you if you are comfortable running sites in excess of £25,000 turnover a week.
With a genuine passion for customer service and an array of leadership skills, you'll have management experience in fast-paced, high volume businesses. One day, we hope you'll pick up the keys to your very own Farmhouse Inn, so we're looking for someone who thrives on responsibility, naturally does a little bit more and has that unflappable enthusiasm that will inspire the team and deliver outstanding success. You also will have the desire to progress through the Greene King structured management development programme.
