We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the capacity of Evening Housekeeping Supervisor for the opening of our new hotel in The City (EC4).

Vintry & Mercer is set in London’s Vintry Ward, among the livery halls, guilds and narrow streets that line the banks of the Thames.
This is where past and present intersects, where the long traditions of the trade and commerce come to life in the contemporary style of the hotel’s 92 bespoke rooms and suites.
The dynamism between old and new plays out again and again – in the hotel’s two restaurants, or the barrel-aged cocktails from the speakeasy bar, in the old traveller maps decorating walls, or the modern chandelier by Moooi.
It’s a hotel in the heart of the City, alive with the bustle of commerce and conversation that reflect its first-class location at the centre of the turning world.

Your role as Housekeeping Supervisor will come with the following responsibilities:

• Assist with maintaining appearance and operations of the housekeeping department in accordance with policies, standards and guidelines established by the hotel.
• Inspect all assigned rooms for cleanliness and maintenance, includes check out, vacant and stay over rooms.
• Oversee all work performance of Room Attendants & Porters and public area attendants.
• Maintain inspection records on a daily basis includes Room Attendant worksheets, guestroom status and maintenance issues as well as minibar item consumed, lost property found
• Ensure supervision of use and care of equipment, linen, cleaning and guest room supplies.
• Maintain effective communication and work as a team to achieve satisfaction for your internal and external customers.
• Ensure accurate update of status of guestrooms to the Front Office department.
• Report maintenance issues that require immediate attention to Engineering.
• Control inventory of equipment and linen on all guest floors.
• Handover any rooms that need follow up and communicate issues at end of shift.
• Ensures all directions are followed out at the request of any level of Senior Management.
• Oversee and take ownership of the lost and found procedures
• Handle guest requests and complaints when necessary
• Carry out administrative duties
• Update the system regularly as per the departmental and hotel standards
• Inspect public areas
• Ensure back of house areas are tidy and presentable
• Actively assist in stock control and reduce waste where possible
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas are presented as per the set company standards
• To be flexible to carry out other duties and assignments as requested by the Senior Management team.

Functional Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience as Housekeeping Supervisor or in a similar role gained in a 4/5* environment is ideal
• Working knowledge of Opera and Microsoft Office
• Confident & humble
• Attention to detail
• Outstanding organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Able to work within a team and on own initiative (A Self Starter)

Social Skills and Experience

To possess the ability to communicate with guests and colleagues in order to project a positive image of the hotel at all times. The ability to maintain hotel standards of work under pressure.
