About Barworks

Barworks was founded in '98 by Patrik Franzen, Andreas Akerlund & Marc Francis-Baum with the opening of their first bar ‘Two Floors’ in Soho. Since then the group has grown to 12 sites across London, as well as 6 venues under 'The Diner' brand of restaurants. Our approach is to treat each venue individually. We don’t have a generic approach to design, but instead like to factor in and amplify existing features and tie in with the local area. The common theme that runs throughout all of our venues is the desire to create a modern take on the traditional pub. A hub for people to meet, work, socialise, eat, and ultimately have a great time in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Alongside the bars and Diners, Patrik, Andreas and Marc were co-founders of Camden Town Brewery, which 5 years after trading commenced had became the largest independent brewer in London, and was sold in '16. In '14 they  also co- founded East London Liquor Company, a fine spirits distillery in Victoria Park producing award winning Vodka, Gin, Whisky & Rum.

What We Do

We aim to create modern interpretations on the British pub, unique to its environment and setting, but maintaining the key components of what a pub should be: a relaxing, welcoming hub for the local community as well as those visiting the area. A destination as well as a home from home. We take great pride in what we offer to our customers. With attention to every detail of the customer experience, not just the food and drink, but the lighting, music, atmosphere and environment. We are not tied to a set formula for each site, allowing us to push forward and constantly improve our offer. Over the years this approach has allowed us to build a solid reputation in both the industry and local area, with many of our pubs regularly appearing in guides for the best pubs in London. In '15 we received industry recognition with a Catey award for best Pub and Bar group.

Food

Food is a key part of our business, and helps define each venues identity. All of our food is made fresh, in house every day, and developed with the expertise of our Director of Food, Dan Spence. Across the group we offer a diverse range of menus, from refined pub classics, oysters and fresh seafood, to award winning sour dough pizzas. Our passion and desire to deliver high quality food to our customers is our mission across all sites. Our focus is on quality, without pretence, and this ethos has helped us secure a strong customer base and footing in our businesses.

Drinks

We offer a unique drinks range across all of our venues: not just focusing on one category, but instead ensuring that our offering across all categories is of the highest possible standard and quality. We were at the forefront of the craft beer revolution, not just with the founding of Camden Town Brewery, but with our approach in our venues. We offer in excess of 14 beer taps in each pub, rotating after each barrel, alongside a bottled beer range in excess of 80 products. Our knowledge, expertise, and approach to beer has positioned us as one of the leading groups for craft beer in London. The same passion we have for our beer is also carried through to our spirits. Focusing on small, artisan producers rather than the common mass produced brands, we offer a point of difference and quality to our customers. That dedication to quality was instrumental in the founding of East London Liquor Company, again placing us at the forefront of the growth in craft distilling in the UK. Our wine range showcases some of the best producers and varieties available, including a number of organic wines. We proudly serve English Sparkling wine rather than Champagne, to showcase the quality of wine now being produced in the UK. Our staff receive expert training to equip them with the knowledge to be real experts in our broad drinks offer, using both in house and industry leading training programmes
