Financial Controller – The River Lee Hotel, Cork

An exciting opportunity is now available for an ambitious qualified accountant with a strong management accounting background to join The River Lee, a Doyle Collection hotel, as Financial Controller on a fixed term basis for a maternity cover.   

As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of The River Lee's senior management team.  Taking full responsibility for the reporting on and performance of the hotel, you will work closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to drive both revenue performance and cost management in order to maximise hotel profitability. You will also take full ownership of the financial control environment in the hotel.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant with experience working in a similar role in a fast paced and innovative industry. This role will suit a candidate with a high degree of attention to detail who also enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include;

    Management of the finance function and team duties, on a day to day basis Overall responsibility for the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack,including analysis of and commentary on performance Annual Budgeting & weekly forecasting, partnering with general manager/heads of department to deliver budgets and forecasts that are both accurate and timely Participation at quarterly business reviews with the CEO, CFO and hotel management team Take full ownership for the proper operation of the financial control environment at hotel level, including cash handling, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, stock control Interaction with key Head Office functions including our Group Management Accountant, Group Treasury and Tax Manager, Internal Audit function Identifying improvements to systems, practices and procedures Support to the finance team, encouraging professional development Ensure Heads of Department are supported to undertake budget and forecast monitoring as part of the financial control framework Support head Office functions on an ad hoc basis, delivering strategic financial solutions
