IT & System Executive - our expectation

  • To assist the hotel guests with technical issues related to connecting or using Internet facilities in the hotel.
  • Ensure through regular monitoring of the Glitch Report constant guest feedback, prompt, efficient and accurate service to hotel guests.
  • To assist end users with IT related enquiries and problems.
  • To provide support and troubleshoot all computer hardware/software/network related issues for Windows, iOS environments.
  • To assist newly employed associates in becoming familiar with the IT environment that is relevant to their specific department and enrolment on required platforms.
  • To report all IT issues to the appropriate service provider and ensure these are repaired as required.
  • To ensure that the IT call logging software (Knowcross, Help desk) is consistently monitored and updated to keep track of all IT issues.
  • To regularly inspect and carry out preventative maintenance on IT/Telephone equipment (Frame Room, Server Room and PBX)
  • Ensure all workstation policies are adhered to and implement security restrictions where necessary.
  • Maintaining user and training guides, procedures.
  • To ensure daily backups are taken.
  • To ensure that the hotel PCs are protected, ensuring the latest definitions of the anti-virus software installed and keep appraised about developments and virus attacks.
  • To assist the IT Manager with network and system related issues.
  • To assist the IT Manager with installations, projects, upgrades and training.
  • To maintain IT inventory records up to date.
  • To attend internal meetings, trainings as asked by the company.
  • To carry a DECT phone whilst on duty and be available on a company mobile phone out of hours for technical support.
  • To be flexible around working hours.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in IT Support in a luxury hospitality or residential environment or in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, problem solving (Windows, iOS & MS Office products)
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good command English, written and verbal.

Desirable

  • Degree in IT, or equivalent work experience in IT industry.
  • Experience in hospitality applications (e.g. Opera, Micros, Knowcross)
  • Some experience with servers and networking.
  • IT certification (Microsoft, A+, Cisco, etc.)
