Senior Recreation Assistant | Harborough Leisure Centre

Location: Market Harborough, LE16 9HF

Working Hours: 40 Hours per week, 3 week rolling rota within the operational hours of the Centre.

Salary: 17,930.64 Per Annum

Shifts will vary between 6:00am - 11:00pm on weekdays and 6:00am - 9:30pm on weekends.

We are currently recruiting for full time Senior Leisure Assistants based at Harborough Leisure Centre to work full-time (40 hours per week) on a shift rota including weekends.

Located on the southern side of Market Harborough, everyone can enjoy the 3 swimming pools, the 72 station gym, fitness classes, the bowls hall and much more.

Key Purpose Of Role

As the interface between customers and staff the Senior Recreation Assistant will ensure that service standards are met by the proper supervision of staff and effective and safe delivery of the Centre’s activity program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- To provide clean, safe, warm, friendly and fun facilities and activities

- Coordinate staff and facility resources

- Carry out job training for Leisure Assistants to ensure effectiveness and the development of teams and individuals

- Contribute to the assessment of teams and individuals against training and development objectives

- Carry out cleaning duties

- Carry out lifeguarding duties

- Provide feedback on work performance to teams and individuals

- Create and enhance productive working relationships with staff, line managers and stakeholders

- Provide support and to the Duty Manager

- Provide support and input to the site operations teams

- To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned

Essential skills, Experience, Qualifications

- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) essential

- First Aid at work desirable

- Pool plant operators desirable

- Previous experience working in a leisure environment with pool supervision
- Good customer care and communication skills

- Health & Safety training/awareness

- An eagerness to progress
