Job Details

To assist in the supply of sterile and/or disinfected medical devices to meet customer requirements.
To mentor and support less experienced members of the team.

Requirements for Post
Educational
Required: A basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy.
Desirable: Evidence of sterile services training
Previous Knowledge, Skills and / or Experience
Preferred: Good communication skills

Key Accountabilities

  • To regularly check that equipment is in good working order and that faults are reported immediately to the appropriate person.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy working environment
  • To check medical devices for damage, and take appropriate action to rectify any problems, escalating issues where necessary
  • To maintain accurate records / documentation in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures
  • To dispose of all contaminated waste in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures
  • To identify stock issues as they arise and advise line manager when stocks need to be re-ordered
  • To participate in team meetings
  • To disassemble / assemble / clean and pack medical devices for supply to customers
  • To participate in rotational shift patterns to meet business requirements
  • To receive and check delivery of medical devices from the customer
  • To provide training and support to less experienced colleagues
  • To input data to the Quality Management System
  • To participate in internal and external audits as required.
