The pace of change within our online business is increasing as our customers’ demand different ways to shop and their expectations develop. Working alongside the Site Optimisation Manager, you will be responsible for the review, development and optimisation of the George.com website optimisation programme. As the Site Optimisation Analyst you will be required to use analytics and customer journey evidence to evaluate the performance of the George.com website. You will work to ensure that strategic alignment; best practice and continual improvement help drive efficiency and consistency across website activities. You should be committed to identifying new digital trends, evaluate new technologies and ensure our brand is at the forefront of industry developments.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Understand what the customer is doing, what they want and how best to serve them.
  • Work closely with the eCommerce analytics team to drive structured continuous improvement based on a statistical trends and fact.
  • Use performance data analysis to improve on site execution, ensuring a best practice learning loop.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business performance across site metrics
  • Engage the George.com merchandising, content and website teams to understand challenges, identify gaps and provide recommendations to optimise and re-engineer training alongside the technical training co-ordinator.
  • Work cross functionally with key business and technology stakeholders to introduce and deliver a structured and consistent approach to building the development backlog.
  • Facilitate website feature adoption ensuring business and training teams have everything they need to implement and embrace changes.Collaboratively agree and set site principles.Champion our agile ways of working – foster the continuous improvement mind-set through the ability to “fail fast and cheaply”, learn from the experience and encourage innovative approaches for improvement and cross-functional ways of working.Understand the relationship between customer groups and the benefits of personalisation, scoping personalised proposals. Support business teams to limit impact on site speed and advise on new initiatives.Manage the A/B & MVT roadmap from ideation through to implementation, alongside our tech team. Work with our MVT partner to streamline the programme ensuring ROI and backlog to live ideation and limiting conflict with native A/B platform testing.
    About you:
    Experience working within a large scale eCommerce environment with a strong understanding of eCommerce software platforms delivering meaningful and measureable change. You’ll have:
  • Tenacity, analytical skills and the ability to ‘peel back the layers’ of issues to pin point the root cause and appropriate remedial action required
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce Software Platforms e.g. Demandware / SFCC, Adobe Analytics and Optimizely
  • Clarity of thought, effective communication skills and the ability to coach and influence others
  • Experience of managing a development backlog
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and practices
  • End to end project Management skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills
  • A willingness & flexibility to travel between ASDA and George head offices (Leeds & Lutterworth)
  • Ideally have experience of MVT tools and processes, preferably Optimizely, CX and UX
  • Ideally have experience and awareness of Agile Scrum principles and values, lean techniques with a continuous improvement mentality
