Our client is an outstanding, Health Club & Spa situated in Edinburgh, who is seeking a Spa Manager to over see the busy Spa.

The Spa is a total haven of relaxation within a prestigious health club, which attracts a fantastic clientele.

This role would suit someone who is an existing Spa Manager seeking a new challenge or an Assistant Spa Manager looking for that step up in their career.

You will be overseeing all facilities including single and dual treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure stations, relaxation room with premium heated beds, spray tan booths, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pool.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualified, CIDESO, CIBTAC
  • Minimum of three years experience in a commercial business environment with a proven track record.
  • Experience/knowledge of the leisure industry/health club market preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - ability to work and interact at all levels of the organisation and external environment
  • Excellent selling & communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Sound financial / management understanding
  • Training, development and coaching skills with the ability to delegate effectively, influence and achieve results through others
  • Creativity, drive and initiative
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness in a pressurised environment and translate opportunities into action plans
  • Commercial awareness and customer focus
  • Able to work flexibly to suit the hours and needs of the business
  • Able to travel away from home to visit clubs, attend meetings and training workshops as and when required

Brief Over View of Duties:

  • Work with the Club General Manager to establish sound business plans and accurate interim forecasts, producing reports on performance as required
  • Regularly measure and review Spa activity, providing guidance and action plans to exceed financial targets and key business performance indicators
  • Ensure a sound knowledge of the market to maintain an awareness of any potential threats and opportunities
  • Effective planning and delivery of sales, marketing and promotional activity to maximise all revenue opportunities in line with business objectives
  • Undertake such other duties as the General Manager may from time to time reasonably require
  • Completing action plans emanating from meetings with the General
  • Manager and Group Head of Spa/Regional Spa Managers
  • Complete 25% of admin time and 75% treatments within the given working week - this may change from time to time in terms of business needs and with prior agreement with the General Manager
  • Working a minimum of 50% of weekends in a given month i.e 4 days out of 8 days (in the month) and also have a shift pattern which incorporates lates and earlies during Monday to Friday
  • Achieve the net profit figure on the Profit and Loss account each month
  • Responsible for the recruitment and induction of Spa Team members in line with deployment and budget requirements
  • Identify training and development needs for the Spa team to add value to the business and to develop team member potential
  • Deliver training sessions on internal standards
  • Ensure performance management processes are established and appraisals are undertaken to assist with the career development, progression and succession planning of the Spa team
  • Coach and encourage Spa team to obtain regular feedback from members to ensure suggestions and customer service improvement opportunities are actioned
  • Ensure that commission submissions are collated accurately and sent on 1st of every month
  • Customer Service / Quality
  • Maintain the product in line with The Spa brand standards
  • Ensure that club members and guests receive an efficient, friendly and personalised service from all Spa team members
  • Manage customer complaints effectively; use customer feedback to activate long-term improvements in products and services
  • Share best practice across the organisation
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety regulations comply with spa policies

Package on Offer:

  • Basic Salary: £20,000 to £23,000
  • OTE : Up to £27,000
