Better Children's Centres are looking for a Part Time, (30 hours per week - Term Time only) Early Years Child and Family Practitioner to work in a nursery setting, support the delivery of children centre activities which include stay and play sessions, training, creches, and after school activities, across all four Children's Centre's in Thamesmead and Abbey Wood in South East London.

Our Children's Centres serve almost 9,400 under 5s and their families - aiming to give children equality in their early life chances as well as providing learning and guidance opportunities to help families live more fulfilling lives. High-quality care, education and a safe, yet enjoyable environment is of the utmost importance in our Children's Centres, so your commitment to deliver these will be key to your role.

You'll be a creative thinker, able to lead and devise fun sessions for children and babies up to 5 years old in everything from song and story times to arts and crafts. You'll have proven experience of working with under 5s and have a good knowledge of safeguarding issues and procedures. An understanding of equality and diversity issues is of the utmost importance as our service users come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures with differing needs including disabled children and those with special needs.

You should have excellent communication skills as not only will you be working with our children and families but with colleagues and peers in the centres at all levels, you will have an NVQ Level 2 in Child Development, or equivalent and will be expected to work between the hours of 7.45am to 6.15pm.
