Programme Manager - Shore Based - Southampton

Carnival UK has big plans for the future! Already the market leader, CUK (which operates the P&O Cruises and Cunard Brands) will grow by 50% by 2022 as we add new ships to the fleet and further transform the industry by making cruising a mainstream holiday for UK guests.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable Programme Manager to help deliver even better holidays for customers of our leading travel brands, from within our growing Project & Programme Delivery team. You’ll be passionate about shaping, mobilising governing and managing large programmes of strategic change and will have the opportunity to work with some of our most senior stakeholders and colleagues.

The Role

We are currently recruiting a Programme Manager to join the Project & Programme Delivery team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and professional Programme Manager to come aboard and join a team of supportive experts at a particularly exciting time!

As a Programme Manager you will have responsibility for shaping a collection of projects into a programme and defining/managing a coherent set of business outcomes to deliver the greatest return on investment for CUK. You will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the programmes governance and reporting arrangements, for managing plans, dependencies, risks, issues and change at the Programme level and for establishing great working relationships with some of our most senior colleagues.

Please see the job description attached for more details.

About You

We expect you to have significant experience managing large, complex business change programmes that include an IT component and to be fully familiar with industry standard project and programme management techniques and their application in a real project environment

The role requires someone who can demonstrate leadership and who is comfortable working at all levels to senior management. Experience managing teams and Project Managers is essential as this programme will be made up of a number of key strategic projects.

Our change portfolio is complex and fast paced and you will need to demonstrate individual initiative whilst working within a complex matrix team environment. This includes being comfortable working with uncertainty but also focusing on the rigour of governance required for a major programme of work.

You will have strong communication and relationship building abilities in order to balance diplomacy with assertiveness and be able to work collaboratively at all levels. You will be very good at prioritising competing demands and pride yourself on being a reliable member of the team. You will also be comfortable working in a technical environment.

About Us

Carnival UK is the operating company for P&O Cruises & Cunard. We provide unforgettable holiday experiences and operate a winning culture to achieve standout success.

Our Cunard ships have been defining sophisticated ocean travel for over 175 years. Our ships have always been The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World.  We continue our legacy of luxury ocean travel with our flagship Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, with Queen Mary 2 providing the only regularly scheduled transatlantic service between Southampton and New York. In 2022 our fourth Queen will join our Cunard fleet.

P&O Cruises has seven ships, including our flagship Britannia which joined our fleet in March 2015.  Our two new ships, the largest in the UK market, will join the fleet in 2020 and 2022, meaning we can offer more experiences tailored to British tastes - combining genuine service, a sense of occasion and attention to detail, ensuring passengers have the holiday of a lifetime, every time.
