P&O Cruises - Food and Beverage Manager - Fleet - Ship Based

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join P&O Cruises as a Food and Beverage Manager, overseeing and managing the entire Food and Beverage operation on board, ensuring high standards across all our restaurants, bars, galleys and hotel stores are maintained at all times. Are you someone who had a natural drive to seek excellence in your work and have an eye for detail when representing our P&O brand on board delivering the best service to our guest? Are you able to prioritise and organise effectively when managing an extensive number of outlets and large teams on board? Are you someone who understands the importance of accurate and clear communication to ensure that all departments are regularly kept in the loop, ultimately ensuring that the operation always runs smoothly?

The key responsibilities for our F&B Manger include:

  • Building and maintaining an effective team, ensuring all service issues are resolved in a professional and customer focused manner

  • Identifying and developing opportunities to enhance the customer experience and increase passenger satisfaction scores

  • Managing department costs within budget, monitoring and controlling expenditure within your departments

  • Communicating, implementing and monitoring initiatives within the department in order to maximise on board revenue.

  • Effectively managing your own department, ensuring adequate resourcing of teams, completing appraisals identifying development opportunities and providing support to managers and supervisors to guide, motivate and direct their respective teams

  • Liaising effectively with shore team regarding food and beverage supplies and equipment and implanting any new policies

P&O Cruises require the following experience:

  • Ideally have worked within Food and Beverage on board a cruise ship

  • Experience of financial management of stock, cost controls and budgets and meeting and exceeding targets

  • Experience of COSH, USPH and Food Hygiene

  • Extensive managerial experience of managing a large team conducting appraisals, development plans and motivating staff, ideally within the cruise industry

Please note that a full STCW Course is required for this role.
