London Cultural Marketing Manager - The Hoxton

We are looking for a London Cultural Marketing Manager, to join us here at The Hoxton.

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of their neighbourhoods. Everyone is welcome at The Hoxton, and we interact with our communities, bringing the outside in and the inside out. As Cultural Marketing Manager, you’ll be essential in bringing this ethos to life.

The Hoxton, Shoreditch was the first, opening in 2006 and since then we have opened in Holborn, Amsterdam, Paris, Williamsburg and Portland. Next year, we will open in Chicago, Downtown LA and Southwark. We choose cities we love to hang out in and want our guests to experience the best of each neighbourhood. You’ll be part of a team that helps to build the cultural reputation of The Hoxton in London, working closely with the Head of Cultural Marketing and focussing specifically on Shoreditch and Holborn. You’ll have the autonomy and responsibility to drive a cultural and events programme that is locally relevant and inspires connections and discoveries.

It’s an exciting time to join the team as we expand globally and define what culture means for The Hoxton.

What you’ll do

We’re not really a strict job descriptions kind of place – we all roll our sleeves up and get stuck in wherever needed – but here's an idea of how we see the role...

Events, Activations and PR:

  • Develop the London event strategy to drive connection with our local neighbourhood: create and run Hoxton events and communications, ensuring a strong mix of events across cultural topics, and high attendance and coverage
  • Manage and further develop existing and global hero event concepts, such as Fresh + Fit
  • Devise regular original, ownable programming formats people return to.
  • Take ownership of all the public spaces and ensure the Hoxton vibe is right, throughout the week and programming Lobby and guest activations that make people smile.
  • Own the music budget and setting up key partnerships to elevate our live and DJ music programming credentials, focussing on key moments, e.g. NYE, Halloween.
  • Be the ‘host’ of the Hoxton events, introducing events, getting to know the guests, building relationships and making sure they are looked after.
  • Set up partner contracts, ensuring they deliver and promote their events, get events posted online, hit deadlines for copy and imagery for monthly mailers, posters and social posts.
  • Own the annual Hoxtown budget, setting ticket prices and work with the bar team to get drinks sponsors for events where relevant.
  • Devise and implement ways to amplify key topical events in the city
  • Work closely with the restaurant and bar team to understand revenue targets and results, and to create event formats and activations that drive revenue at low traffic periods, in a creative credible way, through events, signature series, specials and takeovers
  • Run and curate The Gallery spaces, where we collaborate and promote local, brand-relevant artists
  • Devise and implement ways to amplify key topical events in the city
  • Keep us fresh and innovative through creative ideas that enhance the guest experience, make best use of the shared open spaces and the like
  • Attend all events, making sure social content is captured; create other social content for Ennismore channels under guidance from the Social Media Manager
  • Work with the European PR Manager to drive and raise awareness of The Hoxton (including events and new openings) through digital, print and social media
  • Actively connect to locals, creatives and contacts for our growing Hox Friends programme
  • Manage the London intern and the Hox ambassadors within the hotels to ensure everyone develops and grows.

Brand Partnerships & Ambassadors:

  • Develop a network of local brand ambassadors across key industries and help launch our Hox Friends programme across London, building genuine relationships, hosting networking and social events that keep them engaged.
  • Work with Product Director on our Made in London retail series. Suggesting local partners & products for The Hoxton to collaborate with.
  • Propose, lead and manage a number of select brand partnerships to elevate our brand on a local, and also global, level

The kind of person we’re looking for…

  • You get us and feel a natural affinity to The Hoxton. You already know our hotels, and have perhaps hung out in our bar and regretted that last cocktail the next morning
  • Previous programming and events experience is needed, ideally across different industries and areas
  • Culturally tapped into to all things London, with a network of creative people and partners to work with
  • You are creatively ambitious and culturally curious; able to see ideas through from their inception to reality
  • Enthusiastic, confident and warm; you’re comfortable being out and about at events, representing The Hoxton brand
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun with it along the way

This is a very special opportunity to join an extremely friendly company, which still has a ton of potential to grow. Get in touch!

More about Ennismore

Founded by Sharan Pasricha, Ennismore is a global hospitality company and curator of unique properties and experiences. Headquartered in London, the group is part developer, part operator and part in-house creative studio.

We began our story with the Hoxton hotels, disrupting the hotel model by proving that high quality experience and style would not need to be sacrificed for value. Since then our portfolio has grown to include the Scottish landmark Gleneagles, several stand-alone restaurants in London, the continued expansion of the Hoxton in the UK, Europe and the US, and the upcoming launch of a highly affordable yet equally stylish budget hotel brand, NoCo.

Ennismore is an exciting experience to be part of. We're a growing and ambitious group of people, who are always looking to create experiences that inspire discovery, to do more things that are, simply put, fun.
