Human Resources Administrator - Newport

We are looking to recruit an administrator to join our Human Resources Department at the Celtic Manor Resort


The Human Resources administrator is responsible for maintaining all aspect of the administration system which ensures a fast, efficient and highly professional level of Human Resources support to all departments and employees in the resort. We are also looking for someone who has experience of using Excel and Powerpoint.


The successful candidate must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Organising, improving and maintaining an effective departmental filing system ensuring information is easily accessible to all Human Resources team members
  • Maintaining and updating computerised/manual employee records, printing reports and actively seeking ways to ensure the system is used to its maximum to provide accurate information which supports the objectives of the Resort and the department
  • Handles all enquiries promptly, in accordance with the standards of the department, ensuring that every caller receives a friendly and efficient response
  • Assist with complaints promptly and courteously, taking action by referring the matter to the Human Resources Director
  • Attends and contributes to departmental and Resort meetings as requested
  • Taking minutes for a variety of meetings and producing the documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Producing and distributing e-mails and reports as requested
  • Ensuring the department has adequate supplies to run effectively, anticipating needs, and dealing with store requisitions and purchase requests
  • Familiar with and adhering to all company policies and regulations
  • Maintaining the strictest levels of confidentiality when dealing with Resort and/or employee issues
  • Ensuring that resources are used effectively, minimising waste, and recycling wherever possible, to protect our environment and reduce costs
  • Maintaining and improving the employee notice boards, ensuring they are up-to-date, attractive, eye-catching and relevant
  • Performing related duties and special projects as assigned
  • Co-ordinaiting and Monitoring “Employee of the month/quarter” by effectively circulating emails to departmental managers, establishing nominations, collating votes, preparing prizes and the award ceremony with the executives and the nominees
  • Co-ordinating the Birthday Lunch event which takes place on a monthly basis, by circulating invite letter to all employee with a birthday in that month and making reservations within the Olive Tree Restaurant for the Lunch to take place
  • Managing the incoming and out-going post for the Human Resources department on a daily basis, organising and prioritising as necessary
  • Assisting the Human Resources Director with disciplinary hearings by sending out letters to employee notifying them of the hearing, actively taking minutes, typing up minutes for file purposes and preparing outcome letters based on conclusions and decisions made
  • Managing all correspondence such as contracts of employment, general letter etc
  • Creating meetings and appointments as and when required
  • Managing the diary of the Human Resources Director
  • Producing employee ID cards

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Previous experience in a role within Human Resources
  • Competent level of IT proficiency (typing speeds in excess of 50wmp)
  • Working knowledge of mail merge
  • Be able to take comprehensive minutes
