Prep Chef - Caffe Terra, Fitzrovia,  London

As a prep chef, you will be responsible for the operations in the back of house kitchen and the preparation of menu items for the first Caffè Terra store in London, in the brand new and shiny Rathbone Square!  You will help prepare menu items and manage the kitchen team to create a warm and welcoming work family atmosphere that is a Caffè Terra value, whilst being part of an efficient and effective team that delivers on commercial expectations. 

Your Role 

As our first ever Pep chef your role will be to: 

• following the prep list created by our Italian chefs and detail to ingredient specifications
•  label and stock all ingredients correctly on shelves so they are organised and easily accessible
• measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in preparing the food
• ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times
• washing and chopping vegetables, preparing menu-ready portions
• undertake basic heating duties
• arrange simple dishes such as sandwiches and salads
• quality control – to check the freshness, quality, consistency and safety of food
• maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out rubbish and recycling etc
• ensure all food and other items are stored properly at correct temperatures
• comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
• perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Hours, Salary, Benefits, Conditions 

• £9 - £10.00 an hour  
• full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 6am to 8pm, with some flexibility required
