Start your career journey at Serco!

We currently have a requirement for a Financial Support Officer to join our Adult Care function in Lincoln.

About the Role;

If you are looking for a new challenge working in a fast-paced, diverse environment, then this is the role for you! The key element of your role as Financial Support Officer will be to provide finance administration support for the residential and non-residential adult care function and ensure that all applications/referrals and benefits maximisation are processed and assessed in accordance with policies and regulations. Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver the financial assessment service for vulnerable people in a flexible manner, ensuring that an effective, efficient and customer focussed service is delivered within required KPI, PI and activity timescales in relation to Adult Care Financial Assessments and Provider Payment;
  • Be a single point of contact for customers for non-residential charging;
  • Ensure effective administration of Lincolnshire County Council’s Adult Charging and Direct Payment policies;
  • Undertake verification processes to ensure compliance with Lincolnshire County Council's policies;
  • Deal with routine correspondence and telephone enquiries of a personal and confidential nature pertaining to Service User’s financial details and the payments to service providers;
  • Deal with daily incoming and outgoing post for the residential and non-residential teams;
  • Liaise by telephone, email and letter with our partners and outside agencies such as the Department for Works & Pensions and local authorities;
  • Undertake telephone assessments with Service Users and representatives;
  • Occasional home visits to assist Service Users with completion of their financial assessment form and financial waiver applications – so a full UK driving licence is required.

About You:

Bring your passion and enthusiasm and we will provide you with the platform that you need to succeed. If you already have experience in a similar finance/administration role within Adult Care then we want to hear from you!  We do ask that you have a strong background in administration and customer care, an ability to understand and interpret financial records, including income and expenditure, DWP award letters and notifications and reconciling bank balances. Knowledge of Adult Social Care Charging Policy would be highly advantageous!

Whilst this role is office based, there may be some face to face contact with the public in a Service Users home, sometimes difficult situations will arise, which may involve challenging and disruptive behaviour. There is a risk of difficult telephone calls as a result of decisions made; as such you must have the ability to deal with these situations in a calm and professional manner.

Benefits:

Our success is a reflection of our people and that is why it’s important that we reward our employees, to say thank you for the commitment to Serco.  You will be entitled to a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a competitive pension scheme (matched up to 6%), training & development opportunities, and as a valued employee you will have access to a world of exclusive discounts and privileges including Childcare vouchers, Cycle to Work scheme, Mobile Phone discounts, Merlin Attractions and more!
