Serco works in a strategic partnership with Peterborough City Council in the heart of the city, to transform the quality of local services for our citizens.  We currently have an opportunity to join our team as a Business Support Officer.

Reporting into the Team Manager you will be responsible for providing business support to the Housing Needs Team, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the service.

Full training will be provided but it will be beneficial for the successful candidate to have previous experience in a similar environment

Main Responsibilities

• Manage the inbox for the Housing Needs Service
• Manage the Incoming and Outgoing Post
• Prepare Paperwork for the payment Rent Deposits
• Raise Invoices and Purchase Orders on behalf of the Service
• Take minutes at the Housing Needs Team Meetings as well as Board Meetings.
• Arrange Meetings on behalf of the Head of Service and his Deputies.
• Maintain accurate records
• Ad hoc administrative tasks including but not limited to photocopying, scanning, filing (electronic and paper), data entry, updating of databases, telephone answering

Skills

• Experience of diary management
• Experience of Minute Taking
• Excellent organisation skills with good attention to detail
• Excellent keyboard skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Experience of using Microsoft/Google packages
• Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide and diverse range of people.
• Experience of using Agresso to raise invoices although not essential as full training will be given.
