Centre Manager/Assistant Manager

First Strokes Swim Schools Limited is an award winning swim school, using its own purpose built teaching pools and private pools. Currently operating from seven locations, we cover every aspect of swimming lessons and teaching.

As we continue to invest in both our facilities and team members, we are now looking for an inspirational Centre Manager/Assistant Manager at our centre in Ipswich.

A role within our Management Team is demanding and varied and requires fantastic organisational skills, whilst delivering exceptional standards to our customers.

You will need to be a people person, who enjoys the front of house approach.

The job role includes:-

  • Day to day operations of the centre, including maintaining bookings, customer enquiries and other key administration duties.
  • Meet and greet customers, answering calls and dealing with customer enquiries.
  • To advise customers on all aspects of swimming tuition (full training will be given).
  • To assist all customers who have queries, complaints or requiring information in a polite, friendly and helpful manager.
  • To undertake all reception duties as necessary - dealing with bookings, cash handling, banking and reconciliation in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Daily use of Course Pro online booking software (full training will be given).
  • Leading a team of Swimming Teachers.
  • To ensure the effective supervision of customers in the use of the facilities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • To co-ordinate staffing resources, ensuring that adequate staffing provision is made at all times, including holiday and sickness cover.
  • To be responsible for the premises security and opening and closing of the building in accordance with company procedures.
  • To act as a key holder, and to be on call as necessary.
  • To administer First Aid where suitably qualified to do so, in accordance with company procedures.
  • To be responsible for equipment, maintenance and inventory, ensuring the centre is cleaned and stock levels correctly maintained.
  • To undertake poolside duties ensuring the safety of the public and colleagues at all times, including monitoring of pool tests and plant room (full training will be given).
  • To ensure the development and compliance of all operating procedures of the Company.
  • Ensure the adherence to all regulations and legislation relating to working with children.

You need to:-

Be of smart appearance at all times, in keeping with the uniform and/or standards of personal presentation expected.

  • Have excellent focus and attention to detail on customer excellence.
  • Have good communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Have previous skills in a customer interfacing role would be advantageous.
  • Be friendly and approachable.
  • Be self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Be professional, enthusiastic, friendly and have a fun personality.
