IT Project Manager – SAP Programme
Do you want to be part of a large scale transformation programme and make a difference in one of the largest retail brands in the UK? Do you have a Project Manager background with experience of working within a SAP, Retail or large programme delivery environments?
This is an exciting time at George, part of Asda. You will be working on a large scale business transformation programme, playing a vital part in the delivery of the largest SAP implementation currently in Europe, delivery all of the latest SAP systems. This is a programme that will help shape current and future omni-channel retailing within the George business.
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to work within the team at George House in Lutterworth (Leicestershire), taking ownership for elements of the overall programme.
Whilst this is a 2 year fixed term contract, our Technology team is expanding every year and you could be presented with a number of opportunities along the way.
Your main responsibilities as the IT Project Manager will involve
Creating and delivering project plans and prioritisation of project activity to meet the overall business programme objectives
Managing the project stage gates in accordance with the Asda project management best practice and the Lifecycle methodology
Identifying and communicating project risks, concerns and issues and escalating to the Programme Manager
Taking responsibility for the delivery of 3-5 concurrent projects
Gaining a strong understanding of prioritising and managing the changes to scope, timescales, costs, resourcing, and 3rd parties
Delivering products in a serviceable state including hand-over to service support teams
Negotiating and influencing across a number of different geographies and time zones to remove political, financial and resource constraints. Working with Wal-Mart colleagues in the US.
Preparing and delivering regular project communications to all key stakeholders
Maintaining the project risk log, ensuring appropriate actions are in place to manage the risks in accordance to their priority across the programme lifecycle
Key skills and qualifications required in this role:
Proven Project Management background, working onIT, SAP or ERP projects
Proven track record of project delivery using a project methodology and lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile ideally)
Experience of working on Business Implementation programmes
Proven track record of managing cross functional resource
Experience of working with and influencing business and strategic partnerships - internal, external and globally
Experience of Project Risk Management across multiple projects
Knowledge of MSProjects and other MS Products
