We are currently recruiting for a Night Porter to join our friendly, hard-working team at the Holiday Inn, Dumfries. Set amongst some of the finest scenery in Scotland the hotel is situated within a historic & award-winning 85 acre estate of parkland & gardens. The hotel boasts 71 bedrooms, an onsite bar & restaurant & conference & banqueting facilities for up to 80 guests.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Night Manager, the Night Porter is responsible for ensuring that our guests receive a friendly and professional welcome, first time, on time, every time. You will be on-hand during the night to assist guests with all enquiries; ensure that all public areas are sparkling throughout the night; assist in breakfast buffet and meeting room set-ups; deliver room service requests; completing hotel security, fire, health & safety checks regularly throughout each shift; explain hotel and room facilities to guests clearly and professionally, as well as performing other general portering duties.

As this is a seven day per week operation, a degree of flexibility is required to include weekends and bank holidays. Night Porter shifts start at 11pm and finish at 7am the following morning.

Previous experience in a hotel would be advantageous however, a passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service are absolutely key.
