An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our logistics operations at our Manchester Bakery.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the key focus of the role is to grow, manage and direct the warehouse operation and team ensuring that the products are delivered to shops safely, legally, cost efficiently, on time and in full.

Pay Rates

Annual Salary £29,006

Shift Pattern and Contracted Hours

Hours: 39 per Week

Shift: 5 over 7 days with a rotating days off 

Contract: Permanent

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Warehouse Manager in the responsibility for the implementation of the business plan for the future growth
  • Overseeing the current operation of delivering to shops and planning for future growth
  • Ensuring the ordering of bakery ingredients and factored goods meets production and shop order requirements
  • Ensuring goods are despatched and delivered to shops within the network to meet agreed service level 
  • Ensuring goods are accurately picked/despatched to meet planned vehicle loading schedule 
  • Acting as Site Super User for Pick by Light and site contact for communications with system owners
  • Assisting the Warehouse Manager as Champion for warehouse management systems
  • Ensuring the resource rota patterns have 24-7 cover whilst maintaining agreed service levels and budgetary control
  • Reviewing internal customer interface and systems to identify actions to improve customer satisfaction
  • Meeting key Greggs Performance Scorecard targets to drive improvement
  • Managing the warehouse process to ensure continuous improvement
  • Managing MHE compliance for training and servicing to ensure all accidents and near misses are managed in line with company procedures.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to
  • Ensuring that Team training and development is carried out in line with the business requirements to ensure a high performing team and any MSIP is managed effectively
  • Leading the team with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility in line with the values,
  • Carrying out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans to forge strong communication links within the department.
  • Assisting the Warehouse Manager in identifying and delivering   effective warehouse methodologies

Skills

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of operating business management systems
  • Intermediate level of experience of all Microsoft packages
  • Experience of a FMCG daily fresh operation & multi-temperature environment
  • Previous Warehouse Supervisory experience preferred
