The Met Hotel is a stunning 4 Star, Grade two listed Hotel set in the City Centre of Leeds, unrivalled among Hotels in Leeds for its style, character and location. With 120 bedrooms, 18 function rooms with a capacity for 250 delegate’s and our unique Tempus Restaurant, this vibrant and busy Hotel provides excellent development opportunities for the right candidate. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Reservations Manager to join us as we embark on an exciting journey in joining the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) portfolio. Over the next two years, the Hotel will undergo significant refurbishment and investment which will lead us into the Hotel Indigo brand for 2020.

Your day to day

Our Reservations Manager will contribute to the growth of the rooms and accommodation business, maximising occupancy and revenue, through proactively selling and effectively converting enquiries into sales. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of reservations for The Met Hotel, maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction and achieving revenue targets in line with budget. Your key duties within this role will be to; • To maintain a set of core operational standards that are followed through each day, e.g. Rooms on the Books, daily review of ‘close-outs’, daily management of all reservations systems. • Ensure that all reservations are 100% accurate and are always completed in line with The Hotel and Company standards. • Work towards achieving budgeted occupancy and ADR. • To proactively manage all market segments to maximise room yield and exceed budget sales • Ensure effective selling strategies, rate management and monitoring of competitor performance to maximise room revenue • To assist with the weekly forecasting and annual budget submissions • To be knowledgeable of the hotel and group’s facilities to maximise all sales opportunities • Handling all guest enquiries and complaints in a courteous and effective manner, following through to ensure all issues are rectified to the guest’s full satisfaction • To develop and coach your team to ensure that they achieve Company operating procedures and deliver exceptional levels of customer care • Ensure all information regarding a guest that may improve the quality of their stay is passed onto appropriate departments

What we need from you

We are looking for someone with previous Reservations experience ideally within a 4* City Centre Hotel and an motivated individual who has excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels. You’ll be highly organised with an eye for detail and you’ll thrive working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Given this role will involve using our booking system, it would be highly beneficial if you have used Opera before however this is not essential.
