About the role;

This is a fantastic opportunity to become join the Online Grocery Merchandising Team, working alongside colleagues from across the Asda trading floor to deliver a great experience and range of products for our customers, whilst improving our conversion, sales and profitability.

Online Grocery continues to drive unprecedented year on year growth and is a significant part of Asda’s long term strategy and as an Online Grocery Merchandiser, you will find yourself working in a high energy environment as part of the fastest growing part of our business.

This role would suit someone who has a passion for online retail, and has experience in merchandising or buying.

What you’ll be responsible for;

It is an exciting time to join the Online team, and you will be working on the following:
Owning some of our largest trading categories for Online Grocery, working collaboratively with colleagues from across the business to deliver continued growthLeading and implementing our range change programme, ensuring that new products land on time across our websiteUsing analytics and insight to continuously improve the customer journey through search, navigation and additional contentImplementing promotional activity on the website in line with store, ensuring we trade our best deals across the siteBecoming a subject matter expert on our tools and systems (including our PIM and CMS services) and using these daily to manage your rangesContinued maintenance of your range, including ownership of imagery, descriptions, enhanced content and navigation in order to achieve optimum storefront healthBuilding collaborative relationships with colleagues across areas including trading, marketing, customer insight, supply and core merchandisingWorking alongside our Activity & Design teams to deliver category strategy initiatives to drive incremental sales and improved customer journeysUsing multi variant testing to trial new approaches to merchandising, driving our personalisation strategyAdopting a mobile first approach to merchandising, ensuring your ranges look great across all screen sizes and devices
About you;

This role is a critical link between the trading floor and the online teams and therefore it is important that candidates are able to demonstrate the following;
  • A customer-centric approach to online retailing
  • An ability to work cross-functionally
  • An understanding and passion for the grocery market
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present confidently
  • A results-driven focus
  • Strong organisation with an ability to manage multiple priorities consecutively
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to interpret commercial performance and present back to stakeholders
  • Experience of Web Analytics tools
